A Kaleidoscope of Yachting Excellence
Palma Superyacht Show 2018
27th April to 1st May
The 6th edition of the Palma Superyacht Show got off to a flying start this year. Influential brokerage houses continue to beef-up an already prestigious line-up of superyachts and regatta yachts. Exhibitor stand-space is filling up fast with yachting’s leading service and equipment companies. Needless to say, momentum is building for the upcoming edition of the Palma Superyacht Show, herald of the Mediterranean summer season and arguably yachting’s most anticipated event of the year.
From mega motor yachts to regatta-winning potential: year after year, the Palma Superyacht Show prides itself on an impressive selection of superyachts. In fact, the show’s offering of ‘something for everyone’ is most evident in the percentage of yachts sold last year: no less than 15% of participating yachts were purchased within four months. The recent sale of the 34m NAIADE was also to a client who first set eyes on this Nautor Swan-built beauty at Palma’s Superyacht Show.
No less than thirty international yacht brokers have confirmed their participation this year, each bringing some extraordinary yachts to the show. One of these is sailing yacht RAINBOW (40m), one of the illustrious J-Class yachts. Built to the hull lines of the original 1934 America’s Cup winner, this spectacular J combines a classic look and feel with state of the art technology. S/Y RAINBOW is for sale with Yachting Partners International. At the other end of the spectrum is WANTED (32m), a contemporary-styled motor yacht for sale with Camper & Nicholsons International. She was launched in 2012 as part of the Sanlorenzo SL104 series and counts many features, such as expansive deck areas and a spacious, modern interior.
Not only is the sweeping array of 24m + yachts a big draw but, a larger show area – with a total of 16 more stands than last year – will also be competing for visitors’ attention. From bespoke interior furnishings to the latest technical advancements in sail design, yachting’s most reputable companies will be present to launch ‘break-the-mould’ products and talk about tried-and-tested services. DNC Interiors and North Sails are two examples of such industry leaders, as are Southern Spars and Baltic Yachts. New to the show is A2B Maritime, a Palma-based international marine consultancy firm. Consultant James Brill commented: “A2B Maritime is excited to be exhibiting in the Superyacht Show this year. It is great to have the opportunity to explain the type of projects we work on and how our project management services ensure new build and refit projects run smoothly.”
2nd edition of Refit & Repair area to feature 25% more stands
The upcoming Palma Superyacht Show will also play host to the second edition of the Refit and Repair area. This sector separates itself from the rest of the show by specifically targeting yachting’s experts and professionals and was well received by exhibitors and visitors during its 2017 debut. This year’s R & R area will not only feature 25 % more stands but will also be more integrated within the rest of the show. The R&R area will additionally benefit from clearer signage. This way captains wanting to discuss refit work or visitors keen to talk about the build of their dreamboat know exactly where to head to.
Companies keen to exhibit at the upcoming edition of the Palma Superyacht Show are advised to get in contact with Jane – the organiser at Palma Superyacht Show as there are a limited amount of stands still available. Just complete the contact form in the next tab on this page for your enquiry.
